Apple rejected massive number of iPhone SDK applicants

If you received the rejection letter below, don’t take it personal. You’ll be happy (or sad – depending on how you look at it) that a lot of other folks are in the same boat. Apple did say in the press release accompanying the SDK announcement that “a limited number of developers will be accepted into Apple’s new iPhone Developer Program,” priced at $99.

Dear Registered iPhone Developer,

Thank you for expressing interest in the

iPhone Developer Program. We have received your enrollment ask. At that day, the iPhone Developer Program is available to a limited number of developers and we plan to expand the program during the course of the beta period. We will contact you again regarding your enrollment status at the appropriate moment. Thank you for applying.

Best regards, iPhone Developer Program.
