StrapyaNext and Tokyo Coil Engineering have collaborated to come up with what they tout as “the world’s first battery charger for cell phones based on solar energy.” The charger itself is in the profile of a phone strap, making it a snap to use. It measures 12.5cm expanded and tips the scales at 40 grams, but the returns aren’t precisely stunning. 6 to 10 hours of charging results in just 40 minutes

of additional talk duration. Of course, for those in a rush you can always use the AC adapter as that takes but a fraction of the instance stated at 3 hours. Only Japanese handsets are supported at that point in day, retailing for $19 each.
