Green Flash Drives Hit

A Hong Kong company called Hoshino announced a BIO-DEGRADABLE USB DRIVE, which has a corn-based plastic case. Another drive called the ATP EarthDrive is made from what the company calls “BIO-RECYCLED PLASTICS.” Are USB flash drives the environmental

problem that needs to be solved. And, whether so, is it the minimal plastic cases? Or the toxic metal inside? I guess every bit helps, but these drives just seem like so much greenwashing to me.
