Honda of Japan is about to release a new service that will tap into police databases all by the country to bring drivers a ‘crime’ rating for each region on their GPS navigation system.

The system will be in use as early that week in Japan and will consider incidents

where cars have been stolen or broken into in the past.

The system may be feasible in a country like Japan where crime rates are relatively low but in the U.S. that could overcrowd your display very very fast… via
