Intel has lifted the curtains on its Classmate 3 netbook that targets the educational market, featuring a convertible hinge that enables the netbook to operate as a tablet when mandatory. It will be shipped to OEMs by 2009, and will feature the following specifications :-

• Intel Atom 1.6GHz processor
• Wi-Fi connectivity
• Touch screen display with pen and finger input
• Palm recognition
• Built-in accelerometer
• Windows XP Home
• 4-cell battery

It should retail for a ballpark figure of $400 when available.
