iPhone 2.0.1 Install Bricks Phones in Airplane Mode?

Looks like you’re really going to want to disable Airplane mode before installing the iPhone OS 2.0.1 update. Failing to do so can aftermath in a bricked phone. How do you know that has happened? You may see an error note like that:

“Information for activation cannot be obtained from the iPhone”

Or that:

“iTunes could not update the carrier settings on your iPhone. An unknown error occurred (OxE80000001).”

If you see the first error notice, just disable Airplane mode while on the emergency screen. whether you see the second note, visit Restore rather than Update in iTunes.

These are just a few tips for those with odd update issues. Hopefully they work for you. whether you know any other install fixes, leave them in the comments. Thanks!
