LED backlight deals point to 13.3-inch Apple ultraportable

Right now you could scrawl “ultraportable” with a sharpie on an apple in your local grocery store, and before you got to the checkout there’d be analysts, journalists and the generally hopeful clustering around begging for a super-compact laptop from Cupertino’s most famous manufacturer. The rumor-mill frots its way into a greasy climax today with word that Kenmos Technology and Taiwan Nano Electro-Optical Technology (Nano-Op)

have clinched deals to supply Apple with LED backlight units (BLUs), and what’s causing most consternation is the size: apparently Apple have validated 13.3-inch BLUs, a size not currently in use and so, many are aching to believe, likely to feature in a new design.
