Philips goes cheap with BD-ROM

Unfortunately, that $199 Blu-ray optical drive is not meant to sit pretty in your living room all by its own - it will have to be plugged into an available computer. The Philips internal PLDS DH-4O1S won’t be making a dent to the advancement of

HD DVD recently in the format wars, but at least you could work around that problem by connecting your PC to a TV via an HDMI cable in order to start enjoying Blu-ray movies in your living room.
