Qualcomm is working on a miniature laptop and has two operating systems in mind for the end product - Linux and Windows Mobile 7. The bulk of the design will be done by Invetec, while the Linux-powered system will come with a Qualcomm 3G chipset for wide-area wireless access sans additional hardware, retailing for approximately $300, placing it well within the Eee PC territory. executives promise that it will roll out before the year is by. As for the Windows Mobile 7 version, well, the laptop can’t be released until the operating system is ready, right? And Windows Mobile 7 won’t be ready until early next year at the very best, so go figure.
