R/C Car controlled by iPhone

Sometimes, what public come up with is just cool and that R/C car controlling iPhone is precisely that. The concept is simple abundant, but sometimes the simplest things are genius, like turning your iPhone into a toy car remote.

As you can see in the video below, a very smart 18-year old, Josef Průša, has found a way to control an old remote control car with his iPhone. And supposedly, it only took one afternoon to develop that and get it up and running.

There are only five buttons that are used to control the car.

Four of these buttons are used for driving and the fifth is used to toggle accelerometer control on and off. It’s that simple and very much resembles the racing games you can currently download from the App Store. Plus, you can actually pull that off yourself. Read the full how-to guide at Josef’s blog. There’s just one caveat. You will need a PC to act as a go amoung for the iPhone control and the toy car.
