Researchers Propose U.S. Propaganda Games
I told you February 19, 2006, May 28, 2006, July 16, 2007, and August 16 about Iranian and Iranian-backed terrorist groups’ use of video games as propaganda. Now two Maryland researchers, Aaron Mannes and Venkatramanan Subrahmanian, have proposed in a recent blog entry
that the United States should emulate their creation of PROPAGAMES to convince moderate Muslim gamers to oppose terrorist groups. “The point of waging a war of ideas is not to construct America more popular,” they wrote. “It is to foster attitudes and ideas that marginalize extremists.”
