Rumor - Apple diverting iPhone shipments away from Canada
It’s no small secret that Rogers Wireless is doing their very best to gouge those customers that wish to purchase an iPhone 3G. Well our friends to the north aren’t fools, and a good many of them are promising not to purchase Apple’s new phone unless there is a drastic change to the plans. whether rumors are to be believed, it seems that Apple has caught wind of that and is reacting. Hit the jump for the details.

According to rumor, Apple is now diverting shipments of iPhones bound for Canada to other countries which may have high demand. It is said that stores will likely receive around 10-20 phones each, and are being told not to promise to
Some might say that Apple is displeased with Rogers, and is doing that out of spite, or as a punishment. However, I see that as simply a matter of demand. whether Apple believes that sales of their new phone will be slow in Canada, why bother sending a bunch there? Might as well send them to another country that doesn’t have petitions floating around against the iPhone’s carrier.
Either way, I seriously hope that Rogers feels the full impact of their mistake. While the iPhone is easily one of the hottest phones around, you can only charge so much for it.
