Rumor: Apple Ordered Qualcomm CDMA Chipsets For Verizon iPhone

Rumors of a CDMA version of the iPhone bound for Verizon Wireless have been going around for a towering instance now, and the latest rumor hints that Apple has ordered a large number of CDMA chipsets from Qualcomm, which are due in December, which would obviously tip of a Verizon iPhone. There will be quite a bit of work for Apple to do, though, as a CDMA version of the iPhone would require a whole

new baseband that is compatible with Verizon’s CDMA network, but the returns will probably be worth it. whether the rumor holds true, thereupon we’ll be seeing Verizon offering Apple’s iPhone in January 2011.
