Samsung claims that new SSD offers a goods writing speed of 70MB/s, which is touted to be the highest in the industry for MLC-based SSDs. In addition, Samsung’s 128GB SSD reads input at a purported

100MB/s. The 1.8″ model is just 5mm thin, so we can expect to see ever smaller notebooks/UMPCs in the near future. Mass production of the 128GB SSD is expected to commence in the first half of 2008. Image on the right is the 64GB SSD. [Press Release]
