Samsung Omnia i900 nearly ready
![]()
Samsung Omnia i900 we mentioned recently is getting ready to be launched soon. No exact moment has been confirmed yet but it will be available in early September as far as UK is concerned.
This UK site has a pretty interesting intro for their review of Omnia i900 which is worth a look:
Apparently the term Omnia means ‘Everything’ in Latin, and ‘Wish’ in Arabic, so the expectation associated to that new generation Samsung handset is pretty intense. Do we expect that handset to deliver on its foreign interpretation, or did somebody at Samsung get a new translator for Christmas? I’m certain we’ll find out pretty quickly.
By the instance we had read through the ‘old testament’ style specification and features glossary, we were beginning to
think we were on the verge of something special, an epiphany whether you will…

We had already listed the specs on Samsung Omnia here and here so we’re not going to do that again but we can’t help mention the integrated GPS receiver, 5MP camera, and the 3.5″ touch screen. We’re additionally trying to find out what kind of navigation software and maps will be used in Omnia i900 and whether it’ll require a subscription. We’ll update that post once we find out.
Omnia i900 is expected to cost nothing to consumers provided they sign a new contract.
