Sharpie Liquid Pencil: Is It a Pen? Pencil? Sharpie?

Sharpie’s Liquid Pencil is an impressive feat of writing technologies that combines the best features of a pencil, pen, and permanent Sharpie marker into one product. The Liquid Pencil will go on sale in September, but Engadget’s got some hands-on moment with that low-tech tech toy that packs in plenty of underlying technology research. When you write, Liquid Pencil uses liquid graphite so it writes like a pen with all the fluidity and ease, but you can additionally

erase what you had just written like an ordinary pencil. Best of all, let it sit for 24-hours (according to the packaging), and your mark will be left–permanently–into history, unless you shred your manuscript.
