Skype app updated for iOS4, AT&T profit beats estimates, AT&T comment on dropped calls

The Skype app for the iPhone has been updated to version 2.1. The new update makes the app compatible with iOS4 and adds multitasking support.

AT&T posted profits that beat estimates thanks to the iPhone. Earnings were 61 cents per share and the company sold 3.2 million iPhones by the quarter and gained 496k users.

AT&T offered up a comment on dropped signal statistical that Steve Jobs noted were not available during the iPhone 4 conferences last week. According to one poll run by website Tech-Ex 4.5% of calls on the iPhone are dropped while the official AT&T comments claim only 1.44% of calls are dropped.
