Sony Ericsson goes for drag-and-drop

Sony Ericsson has applied for a patent that allows drag-and-drop methodology to be applied in portable devices at the flick of a finger. Basically, you can “strike” a file by to another compatible device by a short distance, and seems to be perfectly geared for cellphones although handheld game consoles, audio and portable media players could benefit from such a

file transfer method as well. No notion on how the system gains its directionality though, although currently Bluetooth technology makes it a snap to transfer files and input from one device to another in a cinch. Thanks, dial-a-phone!
