I’ve always been a huge Star Wars fan, and have been very excited about the upcoming title The Force Unleashed, which will be coming out in September for all major gaming consoles (PC not included). What it interesting is that LucasArts has deemed the iPhone worthy of inclusion in that release. Hit the jump for video footage.

The iPhone’s version of the game will obviously be scaled down considerably, but it still looks like it’ll be a fun way to pass the duration. The game is free-scrolling, which means you won’t need to nag about trying to move your character while in combat. All aspects of the game

will be controlled by the touchscreen, while the accelerometer is used only to change the game from portrait to landscape whether you choose.

The game looks like it’ll be a lot of fun, particularly for the Star Wars fans out there. It is scheduled to be released on September 16th, the same day as it will be released on all other platforms. I have to say that as a gamer, I’m excited to see that the iPhone is not only getting recognized by the bigger studios, but is even getting the same release moment as other platforms.
