Subscription-based Zonbu laptop Review

PC Mag has taken the subscription-based Zonbu laptop for a spin, and here’s what they have to say about it.

Pros: $279 laptop. Gentoo Linux is solid. Unlike the Zonbu PC, the Zonbu laptop actually has 60GB of local storage. Comes with 20 free software apps, Wi-Fi, and Ethernet.
Cons: $15-per-month subscription plan is the catch. Root access is locked down. VIA parts can’t handle HD clips and

cause slow boot times.

Would you pick it up? After all, $15 a month does add up to a fair sum after a couple of years, and considering the rather lacklustre graphical and processor performances, you might want to take some instance to really think about it before making a purchase.
