Two Police Departments Get Hovering Drone

The Miami-Dade, Florida, and Houston, Texas, police departments will be the first police departments in the world (and the only domestic organizations licenced by the FAA) to tryout that very advanced “backpackable” RC drone for law enforcement. Called the Micro Air Vehicle (MAV) made by Honeywell, the drone can fly up to 10,000 feet high

— or even THROUGH A WINDOW to operate indoors — hovering or flying fast, and transmitting live video all the while. “The unmanned aircraft will be used during SWAT team and tactical operations, particularly when officers need video of a heavily armed suspect.” Here comes the VIDEO!
