Verizon to Use the 700 Mhz Spectrum for 4G Communications

In one of the most unsurprising move,

‘>Verizon announced that its $9.63 Billion investment in the 700 Mhz spectrum will be used for the next-generation 4G notes connection. Don’t rejoice so quickly, considering 4G service won’t be widely available before 2010, and whether 3G’s history has taught us something, 2010 might mean 2013…

By the way, 2013 is the

theoretical duration by which citizens expect AT&T to have its 4G service. Sprint has chosen to use WiMax and has told us that deployment should happen that year. Computer makers like Asus have pledged to supply cheap WiMax hardware to accelerate adoption.
